South Beach- A Culinary Experience

Let me make this clear – Miami is one of my favorite travel destinations. Granted, there are many places I haven’t visited, but Miami already has a special place in my heart. The weather, the mood, the beaches, the daiquiris, the food…it is everything I want in a vacation spot. Continue reading

Summer Lovin’- Reflecting on Summer through Every Age

I love summer time. I am a summer baby and wait with bated breath for summer to come. Now that it’s here, I feel like I have blossomed. I feel like and really think I am the best version of myself during the summer months. I am grateful that at the beginning of this summer season, I have close to four weeks off. Yes. Four weeks, give or take. It’s a blessing and a curse. I can already tell I am not going to be a happy camper when I have to go back to work after sleeping in almost every day, but I refuse to live in that mindset. Live in the now right? This break also made me nostalgic about how my summers have changed throughout my life. As we age, summer takes on many different meanings and I thought it would be fun to reminisce. Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we?Continue reading

5 Tips to Get Reacquainted with Your Home

The holidays can bring frequent travel. Packing, unpacking, and repacking can seem like all you’ve done the last two months. I know when I travel, I miss simple things like the natural sunlight that shines through my windows. I don’t realize how much I miss waking up in my own bed. It can surely feel like a treat. With all the time away, you may feel the need to get reacquainted with your home. Here are five tips I use to get back in the groove of being home and falling back in love with my place.

Scrubs Magazine Feature!

Almost a month ago, Scrubs Magazine did an online search for new material for their online platform. I was a little nervous to even send anything, but I realized that I needed to just shoot my shot. The worst thing that could happen would be that they don’t pick my piece and no one sees it on their site. So, sent my submission into the magazine. The title? 5 Ways to Make the Most of Your Nursing Career. Well,  two weeks ago Scrubs Magazine emailed me back and told me that my article would be going LIVE October 2nd! I could not be more excited!!! I really wanted this and am blessed to have this opportunity to share my thoughts on nursing with my colleagues. Please go check out the link below for the article and share your thoughts with me there!

I am super motivated to continue to share my creative gift with others, be it about nursing or my other passions. Thank you to Scrubs Magazine for choosing my article and giving me an opportunity.

Let’s Get To Work!

createherstock-inspire-create-2

As I sit in my living room avoiding doing my homework and studying, I can’t help up daydream about all the things I want to accomplish next year (I’ll do almost anything when I’m avoiding schoolwork. Haha). More traveling, heftier savings, grander goals.  I want to see it all manifest next year. 2016 has been good to me, but I am really trying to level up next year. October 1st marked the start of the fourth quarter of the year, and it was then I realized it was time to get to work. It will be very hard to accomplish my 2017 goals if I do not start preparing now.  What’s that saying, “fail to prepare, prepare to fail”? So I have come up with some plans/ideas for myself to assist  with more efficient planning for next year so I can hit the ground running.Continue reading

2016 Promises to Myself

SHINING

It is still slightly unreal to actually think that we are in 2016. I remember when Y2K was a thing. Now it’s 2016, and we are only advancing and in some aspects, regressing, as a society. 2015 proved to be a trying year for our country, but in my own personal life, it was a year of new beginnings and the completion of accomplishments. I am looking into the unknown that is 2016 with anxious, giddy expectation. I am looking at myself, realizing that if anything is going to happen this year, it will require me to show up, to be present. So, here a few of the promises I am making to myself in 2016.

TOP 7 Post-Summer West Coast Music Festivals

Spring and summer time host some of the best music festivals, leaving those of us who missed out without memories of flower crowns and flash tattoos. Who doesn’t love music? Nobody! That should be the answer that we hear. Music speaks to and for our souls. There is music for any atmosphere, any mood, and any occasion. If you’re like me, you didn’t get a chance to go to Coachella or SXSW or Stagecoach because, frankly, you didn’t know when it was. I never think about music festivals UNTIL the pricing has quadrupled and it’s too late to find lodging. I’m usually so caught up with LIFE that I miss out on these experiences that would change our lives. I decided that I would no longer be a victim to my hectic schedule and student like funds. I have come across what seems to be the ultimate guide to worldwide music festivals. And let me just say, it’s amaze balls. These festivals are made up of music, art installations, and international foods. Below is a list of my top 7 west coast (the best coast!) post summer music festivals. Just because the summer is over does not mean that we can’t rock out!
